Last week, Mike Partner (Managing Partner) and Jo Holmes (HR Director) were delighted to attend Parliament for the launch of the Breaking Down Barriers to Law: Phase 1 report.
With compelling speeches by Attorney General, the Rt Hon Victoria Prentis KC MP, the Rt Hon Justine Greening, Nick Forbes CBE, and Neil Lloyd, we successfully showcased to policy-makers that regional firms can play a crucial role in eliminating barriers to opportunity.
This report is the outcome of a collaborative project by The Purpose Coalition and a group of leading law firms and it marks the first step to boost access to legal professions to ensure opportunities are accessible to all.
The project consisted of several workshops taking place over a number of months on key topics such as access and recruitment and these helped develop a series of recommendations for action, which are detailed further in the report.
We are excited to continue this conversation and work towards creating a more equitable and inclusive future for all.
