Bryn Parry CBE, Help for Heroes Co-Founder

14 April 2023

Co-founder of Help for Heroes, Bryn Parry CBE, passed away on Wednesday 12 April 2023.

Mr Parry and his wife Emma founded Help for Heroes in 2007 after seeing the struggle that wounded and injured service men and women faced in their recovery. Without them over 27,000 serving and veteran military personnel and their families wouldn't have received the life-changing support provided by H4H.

The Prince of Wales has paid tribute to Bryn on Twitter, describing him as: "A life-affirming, inspirational man, his work with @HelpforHeroes made a difference to so many and his legacy will be its continuing impact".

The Duke of Sussex, Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, has said: "Those that come after him will always be better off because of his actions. Bryn Parry, we salute you! Thank you from all of us for the lives saved, the support given and the community inspired".

Bryn served in the Royal Green Jackets Army regiment before starting a career as a cartoonist. He sold quality designs and took commissions – including Wilsons! We were lucky enough to have him draw our Christmas card "Wilson the Legal Eagle”.

Our partner, Stephen Oxley, former trustee and chairman of Help for Heroes:
Bryn was a multi-talented individual. A brilliant cartoonist and sculptor with a wicked sense of humour which came through in all his work. As a former soldier, he and his wife, Emma were the driving force and passion behind the creation and success of H4H to the long term benefit of our wounded, injured or sick military personnel. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all those whose lives he changed for the better. In Bryn’s words “Onwards and Upwards”. We owe him a great debt of gratitude.
