Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, former Love Island contestants, have announced their split after five years together. The breakup, which shocked fans, comes amidst rumors of Tommy's infidelity. The couple shares a 20-month-old daughter, Bambi, and were engaged but not married. Family lawyers note that because they weren't married, they won't have financial claims against each other, with some suggesting that Molly-Mae, being the wealthier of the two, may have had a "lucky escape."

Associate, Lisa Payne, has commented in an article in Today's Family Lawyer about the situation. Lisa writes: " As there is no such thing as ‘common law marriage’, they will simply now go their separate ways and there are almost no financial claims either can bring against the other. If they were married and hadn’t entered into a pre-nuptial agreement, all their assets would go into ‘the pot’. She is the higher earner and Tommy’s boxing career could be short lives, and so would he be wanting to make a claim against such?"
