How to break into technology from a working-class background (The Times)

Technology is the country's fastest-growing sector; however, only 9 percent of technology employees come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Comparing this figure to the 29 and 23 percent in finance and law, respectively, highlights the lack of representation in the technology sector. It is therefore essential that employers take active steps to help working-class candidates develop the skills necessary to become technology leaders.

Senior Associate, Natasha Letchford has had her comments published in an article by The Times, advising that guidance on how to write an out-of-office message is essential, as "in the event that a seriously misjudged out-of-office message gets a negative reaction, this could be dealt with as a disciplinary matter."
