Wilsons' Corporate team has advised the shareholders of MG Cannon, an award-winning manufacturer approved accident repair group which provides automotive repair services across the South-West, on its sale to Steer Automotive Group.
The Wilsons cross-firm team was led by Corporate partner Mark Cook, with support from James Allen. Commercial Property support was provided by Ellen Rutter, with Ben Smith providing Corporate Tax support and Sophia Zand providing Employment support. Wilsons worked alongside Oaklins Evelyn Partners' corporate finance team on the transaction.
Dan Wareham, managing director of MG Cannon, said: "Mark and the Wilsons team did an exceptional job for us successfully closing this deal on budget and on time. This is an important milestone for MG Cannon and joining Steer Automotive Group provides us with the opportunity to further develop our capabilities and expand our reach, geography and sustainability plan. We are very grateful to the Wilsons team for helping us achieve this. The transaction was demanding at times, thankfully Mark and his team were able to guide us through and overcome all challenges with skill so that we could get the deal over the line. The Wilsons team are a pleasure to work with".
Mark Cook added: "It has been a pleasure working with Dan and Vince on this transaction. Completing the deal within a tight timescale was a challenge but, thanks to the hard work of the multidisciplinary Wilsons team we were able to guide our clients through the process to a successful conclusion. We wish MG Cannon all the best for the future under its new ownership."
