Wilsons in Wellies

19 October 2018

At Wilsons every member of staff is given one day a year to spend giving back to the community, whether this may be looking after animals, helping at local schools or digging holes in the local countryside.

Every year a group of Wilsons staff band together to take on the Harnham Water Meadows (HWM) for their community day, digging trenches to allow the water to flow through the meadows, rejuvenating the land.

On Thursday 18 October; 13 of our dedicated colleagues headed down to the HWM, where they learned about the local mills, history and uses of the water meadows. The team began work by digging watercourses and transporting the soil over the land.

Well done to our Wilsons colleagues; Debbie Ashenhurst, Jack Boswell, Tim Clayden, Emily Hannell, Tom Harriott, Ruth Harris, Veronica Hughes, Alison Morris, Jem Quemper, Alice Robson, Jonathan Smith, Ben Thornton and Georgia Williams.

Special thanks to Hadrian Cook & Tom Harriott for organising and Ruth Harris for providing the team with a lovely lunch and refreshments throughout the day!
