Emma is a Chartered Legal Executive in our Mental Capacity team. She studied law at The University of Winchester and qualified as a CILEX Fellow in December 2022, specialising in mental capacity and community care law.
Emma joined Wilsons in 2023 having worked at other regional law firms, and deals with applications to the Court of Protection and managing deputyship and attorney matters. Emma has experience in advising both lay people and professionals on their roles as attorneys and deputies and The Mantal Capacity Act 2005, as well as advising on other matters including social care funding, navigating The Care Act 2014 and challenging health and social care plans. Emma enjoys visiting clients and building relationships with those who struggle to advocate for themselves due to their disabilities.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys going to the gym and attending the various dance classes offered. In the summer, Emma can be found paddle boarding, camping or enjoying a good book in the sunshine.
